July 11, 2014 – The Mid-Missouri Regional Planning Commission, in coordination with representatives from Boone County and Jefferson City, facilitated a second meeting to discuss the Missouri 2015 Leaf-Off Imagery Program. The meeting was a follow up to Regional Planning Commission meeting in April, which all membership was invited to learn about the project and discuss their participation. This project gives imagery users the opportunity to cooperatively purchase various aerial photography products at a reduced cost. Attendees included assessors and staff from Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard and Moniteau Counties.
Jason Warzinik, Boone County GIS Manager and Greg Resz, Jefferson City GIS Manager, provided an overview of the program and gave an update on what entities are counties/cities are signed up to participate. Boone County, the City of Columbia, University of Missouri, Cole County, Jefferson City, and Callaway County will all be participating in the 2015 flight. All of the attendees were positive about the benefits of more current aerial imagery. The more rural counties of Cooper, Howard and Moniteau are discussing participation pending funding availability. The deadline to participate will be September 2014.
