May 27, 2016 – Representatives of the Mid-MO RPC Executive Committee including Gary Jungermann, Mid-MO RPC Chairman, Vice-Chair Kris Scheperle, Secretary Sam Stroupe, and Personnel Chair Les Hudson met on Wednesday, May 25th to review the FY17 draft budget with RPC Director Ed Siegmund and Office Manager Lee Ann Jestis.
Siegmund reviewed the anticipated staff work program for the upcoming year, which includes providing technical assistance for the update of the Centralia Comprehensive Plan, grant administration for CDBG projects in Holts Summit and St. Thomas, and pending funding approval projects in Armstrong, Bunceton, and Russellville; and the update of hazard mitigation plans for Callaway, Cooper, Howard, and Moniteau counties. He indicated that staff will continue its partnerships with the Economic Development Administration, Missouri Department of Transportation, and SEMA- Division of Homeland Security.
Committee members reviewed the projected revenue sources and contract status of funding for the upcoming year. At this time- Staff is projecting the total revenue for FY17 of $808,600 which includes pass-thru dollars. Operating revenue under contract for the upcoming year is $377,615, excluding revenues from developing projects. Discussion was held regarding the membership dues rate which has been set at 30 cents per capita since the reorganization of the RPC in 1998. The Committee directed Staff to prepare addition information regarding dues rates and revenues from other regional Planning Commissions for their review. Committee members reviewed the proposed staffing level for the upcoming year, and recommended salaries. It is planned to have the draft budget available for membership review and comment on June 01.
